August Rush was a really cool movie. I love movies with good visuals and music, and this had both. Near the start, when he first arrives in New York, everything is hurried and choppy. And the music follows and connects everything... go see the movie.
And it's one of the first ones in a long time I've wanted to own that weren't some semi-apocalyptic alternate-future sci-fi movie. I love those movies --Aeon Flux(awesome, all around), Golden Compass(worth it for the polar bears, if nothing else)... the "WO THIS WOULD BE COOL IF THINGS WORKED LIKE THIS" movies....
This was entirely different, and just... a damn good movie.
Yep. Lots of good movies coming out lately.
jnspies and I are gonna go see P.S. -- I love you later in the week, too, more'n likely. I wanna see Jumper when it comes out (because it's a futuristic sci-fi movie WITH TELEPORTING. Teleportation, man... it's gotta rule.
And there's Hitman, and... something else, too. Beh, I'm gonna run off and be a movie critic. Well... maybe I'll just find a way to make watchin'-movies-n'-talking-about-them a real career. I tend to find something I like in most movies...
And I'm trying to be patient and wait for things-to-start, too...
(yes, I'm excited about Christmas, but that's not what I mean, this time. *grin*)

Verdicts:
Hurricane: I still wonder about the people who buy generators and sit in their houses with rifles and shit. Seriously. Thus far, I'm of the impression that "hurricane predictors" just make these numbers up. Twenty-seven hurricanes? Right. We're on number FIVE.
(Am I leaving if it comes this way and it looks like we're gonna get hit? Damn right I am. I'm packing up some clothes, and my Wii, and we're leaving. But it looks like we're gonna get missed anyway. And yes, I have a case of bottled water in my trunk. I can trade water for gas to evacuate. Mwahahah.Capitalism barter system, FTW.
The Nintendo Wii in my apartment: COOLEST FREAKING GAME SYSTEM EVER. This thing seriously rules.
Superbad: There are funny parts of this movie, but take the name seriously. Catch this one on video, if you have to. Nigh-on-to-half-of-the-good-part was the stuff rolling with the credits. "Knocked Up" was an outstanding movie. This one was just... hm.
Part of that may have been that I pretty-much-completely despised high school, and this is another one of those "last chance for high school to be awesome" movies. I think, though, that it's just that it's an over-the-top movie...
